2025 Choral Executive Leadership Academy Coming this Summer!

The Choral Executive Leadership Academy is an intensive leadership development program that focuses on the skill development of individuals who have been marginalized because of race or ethnicity. The Leadership Academy creates career pathways to executive leadership by building the administrative skills required of C-suite leaders and providing guidance in navigating predominantly White institutions. 

Participants emerge equipped with the skills and support systems needed to be successful in executive positions in choral organizations. Chorus America envisions increased racial diversity in the choral field’s administrative leadership as an outcome of this program, creating a more welcoming and vibrant field for all. 

2025 Conference Kick-Off!

The Leadership Academy will kick off with an in-person gathering on June 4 at the 2025 Chorus America Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, and continue online through the summer. Register for the cohort of 30 participants by April 17.

Collaboration With Equity Sings

The Choral Executive Leadership Academy is developed in collaboration with choral conductor, composer, consultant, and equity coach Arreon Harley-Emerson, and rooted in the proven curriculum of the “Leaders of Promise” program, which Harley-Emerson created as part of his consulting business, Equity Sings.

Inaugural 2023 Program

In the summer of 2023, the inaugural Choral Executive Leadership Academy served 27 participants, providing the opportunity to develop a cohort of peers and meaningful connections within the choral field.
